Federal legislation that would place draconian restrictions on all areas of the U.S. economy through the adoption of “cap-and-trade” legislation is now moving through Congress. The Waxman-Markey legislation would impose a new “cap” on carbon-dioxide emissions. By 2020, the cap would be set at 17 percent below 2005 levels.

Furthermore, this Saturday morning from 9am to 10am on AM 1550, I will discuss the issues surrounding global warming and cap-and-trade with Myron Ebell, an expert on energy and global warming policy at the Washington, DC-based Competitive Enterprise Institute, one of the leading organizations that has consistently been critical of efforts to regulate economic activities related to the supposed problem of global warming.
