Just days after Roosevelt County voted to adopt a right-to-work ordinance, its neighbor to the south, Lea County, has followed suit. And the vote was unanimous!
That makes seven New Mexico counties that have approved labor-freedom measures. Sandoval was the gutsy trailblazer, followed by Otero, Chaves, Lincoln, Eddy, and Roosevelt. It’s clear that a growing number of communities are not content to wait for Santa Fe to wake up and finally adopt effective economic-development policies. They’re moving forward on their own.
Who’s next on the list? Maybe San Juan County. Maybe Sierra County. Maybe your county?
Torrance should be blue. 🙂
