RGF Research Director to Discuss Albuquerque Budget

On Tuesday March 20, starting at 7pm, Rio Grande Foundation Research Director Dowd Muska will be presenting to the Albuquerque Tea Party on opportunities to right-size City of Albuquerque budget.
As the chart below shows, Albuquerque’s gross receipts tax has risen dramatically in recent years (more than 35% since 2000). More tax hikes are possible with the local economy stagnant and “progressives” in control of City Hall. Even if tax hikes were not an immediate threat to the sluggish local economy (the City had more jobs in January 2008 than it does today), the fact is that efficiency would improve quality of life and make our City more attractive as a business destination.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Tuesday, March 20th at the UNM Continuing Education Conference Center which is located at: 1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque
