Randal O’Toole is America’s foremost transportation policy expert. His new book “Romance of the Rails” takes on a number of transportation issues after providing a detailed history of America’s rail systems. On the podcast, Dowd and Paul discuss the book and how specific New Mexico transportation projects like the Rail Runner, Albuquerque Rapid Transit, and Amtrak’s Southwest Chief with Randal. They also talk about the most environmentally-friendly mode of commuting (telecommuting) and why the environmental and other special interest groups have no interest in it.
