FTC: Big Oil did not manipulate U.S. gasoline prices

Surprise, surprise….actually, not surprising at all. The Federal Trade Commission has studied the issue and determined that oil companies did not manipulate oil prices last summer. Of course, we at the Rio Grande Foundation were saying this more than a year ago and, as both the FTC and Foundation writers pointed out, government policies, specifically the ethanol mandate, played a major role in driving prices up.
