I am sad to observe that many of the policy recommendations and behind-the-scenes activities of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce reflect too much influence of regulated businesses, like public utilities, and others who stand in line for New Mexico’s traditional corporate welfare. Perhaps all this reflects a surrender to nearly 75 years’ domination of the state Legislature by the party of the left — just get along by going along. In any case, with “friends” like the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, those of us believing that free markets best serve the public interest are in no need of enemies.
