Join Fellow Liberty Lovers for Atlas Shrugged!

Those who follow this space are undoubtedly aware that Ayn Rand’s individualist anthem Atlas Shrugged has been made into a movie. It looks like the only theater in New Mexico that is planning to show it on opening night is the Century Rio 24 in Albuquerque.

Opening night is April 15 (appropriately enough), so get out and protest with your local tea party group and then enjoy an evening at the movies. More information on tickets and showtimes can be found here, but I will be attending the 7:45pm showing.

Thanks to all of you who “demanded” the movie. And, it is good to see that at least one theater has responded. The only way to make sure that Atlas Shrugged is shown widely around the nation and eventually the world is to get out there and see it. So, get your tickets and we’ll see you at the movies!

    1. Andrew, I don’t even understand your comment. RGF supports individual liberty. Within that context, people are free to live how they want. I don’t care if you want to live in a commune as long as you don’t demand (through the use of government force) that the rest of us support you. It is the government that uses force to make people live the way that government bureaucrats want them to.

    2. Andrew makes the mistake of thinking individualism means living like a hermit–being utterly self sufficient and having no contact with others. But that is wrong and absurd. Individualism ultimately means relying on your own judgement at all times.

For more see “Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand” by Leonard Peikoff.

  1. Individualist

    –noun
a person who shows great independence or individuality in thought or action.

I’m an Individualist, I don’t rely on someone else or big Government.

  2. What a non-sequitur comment, Andrew. Do you really have any idea what an individualist is? Watch the movie or, better yet, read the book. You can probably find it at the library so you won’t have to dirty your hands spending money in support of an idea that you clearly don’t like. The librarian will let you read it there if you haven’t made the individual effort required to obtain a library card. Individualism includes many different aspects in life including self-reliance and taking personal responsibility for your life without choosing to be a victim in exchange for a government handout. Try it, you’ll feel a lot happier. I know I do.
