Good news! The anti-gun measure being considered by the Albuquerque City Council tonight failed at 5 to 4, specifically Resolution 20-68 which would have called the legislature to push firearm preemption reconsideration to the ballot. The vote tally is included below:
Lan Sena: yes
Isaac Benton: yes
Klarissa Peña: no
Brook Bassan: no
Cynthia Borrego: no
Pat Davis: yes
Diane Gibson: yes
Trudy Jones: no
Don Harris: no
A no vote indicates opposition to the anti-gun measure. Thank you so much for your hard work in encouraging our City Council to protect our constitutional right to keep and bear arms!
I can find no mention of a resolution 20-68 in the 9/09 meeting agenda or the minutes of that meeting, posted at
https://cabq.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx
The words “gun” and “fire” do not appear anywhere in the agenda document.
Am I missing something?
It was under item i. on the agenda. By now you may be aware that it failed on a 5-4 vote. The City’s website is not the best for sure.
Found it. Thank you.
We should all thank the councillors individually who voted against this attempted usurpation of our rights, and then ask all of the councillors to vote against the two proposed ordinances also aimed at our 2nd Amendment rights.
