Will Deb Haaland REALLY debate Gregg Hull?

Back in July we were told that Deb Haaland had agreed to debate Gregg Hull ONCE. It is absolutely ridiculous that there will be as few as one gubernatorial debate. But, at least we were told there’d be one. It’s September 4, 2026 and in person early voting begins in a month and absentee ballots are also mailed out in a month, but we don’t even have a debate date set.

It is widely understood that Haaland is not a strong debater. She is not particularly interested in debating Hull at all, but feels like she has to. And, with polling placing the two relatively close together in terms of the likely outcome, it seems that Haaland has to debate at least once.

Will she try to avoid the debate entirely hoping that her “progressive” base will vote for her anyway? It has raised the question “Where’s Deb?”
